Given the timing of the 55th Annual Festival which was scheduled for September 20 and the possibility of a resurgence of COVID-19 in the fall the Association voted to avoid creating this mass gathering situation. Annual Pumpkin Festival at French Park in Seymour featuring a large variety of handmade crafts food vendors music entertainment and kid-friendly activities including carnival games rides and a petting zoo. With more than 15 000 attendance each year Seymour Pumpkin Festival makes it to the list of the most-visited festivals in Seymour. The juried craft show started humbly in 1966 and grown into a mega festival that currently features assortment of handicrafts on display such as sillk and dried flowers blown glass soft sculptures ceramics woodwork and many more. Residents in Seymour came together on Sunday to celebrate their community and kick off fall with some fun.
The Annual Seymour Pumpkin Festival is a family friendly event featuring over 100 hand made craft vendors and food booths. There is a costume contest for the kids and a pumpkin decorating contest as well as rides and a petting zoo with a kangaroo. A local band will play throughout the day.
The Seymour Pumpkin Festival is expected to attract thousands of people Sunday Sept. 18 to French Memorial Park. Craft booths will include handmade jewelry silk and dried flower arrangements soft sculpture quilts paintings blown glass woodcrafts Christmas ornaments ceramic items hand painted slate and other goods according to the non-profit organizations Facebook page.
The Seymour CT Pumpkin Festival is a juried craft show with an average of 15000 people in attendance each year. Highlights include the childrens costume contest and pumpkin decorating contest. Each craft booth is given special consideration for placement depending on their product.
