HUNTSVILLE-Registration for the 2021 Cotton Row Run is still underway as the 41 st running of the annual 10K extravaganza has been moved from its traditional Memorial Day date to Labor Day on Monday Sept. 6Race coordinators indicated they plan on the races tradition of honoring the military who have lost their lives in service to the country. Kenyan native Julius Kogo bested the field to win the 36th annual Cotton Row Run this morning in Huntsville.

Kogo 29 completed the 10K course in 29 minutes 30 seconds to lead 2063 competitors. Kenyans have won the last three Cotton Row. See the Memorial Day 10K from The Hill.

Obviously that usually means that its hot and humid so its not really conducive to running fast times. The other barrier to fast times is the course itself. The first 5k is a net uphill that can easily sneak up on anyone who has not raced it before.
