Ankeny summerfest parade. A long-time tradition for the final evening of Ankeny SummerFest and Celebrate Ankeny will be continuing with this tradition in 2021. The approximately 20-minute show will be choreographed to music in the skies north of the Celebrate Ankeny Entertainment Garden. This is the tenth year Ankeny SummerFest is under the umbrella of the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce with support from the City of Ankeny and the Ankeny Community School District.
In 2021 we will be hosting Celebrate Ankeny. Celebrate Ankeny in partnership with Ankeny SummerFest is a success due to the amount of Chamber and Community volunteers. Our involvement with the Ankeny Summerfest Kids Parade is one of our favorite ways to meet our neighbors and reach out to families during one of Ankenys most popular summertime activities - Summerfest.
We set up a tent on the corner and provide free hot dogs popcorn and drinks for parents and kids participating and watching the Parade. The SummerFest parade is first and foremost a place to showcase the relationships between Ankeny its area businesses and organizations and the public. Therefore it is important for all organizations and businesses to demonstrate this relationship as well as the SummerFest.
Due to all of the changes in guidelines over the past year we will not be having the parade boat regatta or carnival in 2021 but have begun planning to be back to the full SummerFest Programming in 2022. Ankeny SummerFest Celebrates 50 Years July 7-10. The Ankeny Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Ankeny SummerFest will return this week for its 50 th anniversary. The four-day festival will be held July 7-10 at Prairie Ridge Middle School and Prairie Ridge Sports Complex located at NW Ash Dr.
